Arranging an assessment

Lower lid assessment takes place in the outpatient clinic of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about the under-eye area so that the right clinic time is booked.

What the consultation examines

The assessment looks at the lid at rest and in movement, at where the fullness actually sits, at how the shadow changes when you look up, at the thickness and quality of the skin, and at how the area behaves in the morning. Old photographs are useful, because they show whether the change is one of contour or of colour and when it appeared. Previous injectable treatment is recorded with dates and substances. You should leave knowing which finding is present, whether an injection reaches it, and what the exit from treatment would be.

What to bring

Bring a list of your medication, including anything that affects clotting, and any record of previous injectable treatment. Tell the team about any history of thyroid eye disease, any delayed reaction to an injected material, any bleeding disorder, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mention contact lens use and any planned eye or eyelid procedure as well, because it affects the timing.

The review visit

A review at about four to six weeks is part of the plan rather than an extra appointment, and it sits later here than in other areas because swelling under the eye takes longer to clear. It is when a lump, a ridge or a tint can be judged as real rather than as fluid, when a small correction can be made, and when the interval to any further treatment is estimated from your own response. It is also the point at which a decision to stop can be taken honestly.

Questions without booking

Questions about the content of this site, including any correction you believe should be made to it, are welcome through the hospital administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered at an assessment, and we will say so rather than guess.
